Hume Cement Sdn Bhd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hume Industries Bhd; a member of the Hong Leong Group, started operation in 2012 with the aim of offering a complete supply chain solution that meets customers’ needs. We have an integrated cement plant located in Gopeng, Malaysia, that utilizes ground-breaking technology. ORDINARY PORTLAND CEMENT (OPC) is made from high quality raw materials using a unique grinding process to give you a better, consistently performing product. It offers ease of use and is multi-purpose. It complies to MS EN 197-1:2007 CEM I 52.5N standards.
Ground-granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS or GGBFS) is obtained by quenching molten iron slag (a by-product of iron and steel-making) from a blast furnace in water or steam, to produce a glassy, granular product that is then dried and ground into a fine powder.
GGBFS is used to make durable concrete structures in combination with ordinary portland cement and/or other pozzolanic materials. GGBFS has been widely used in Europe, and increasingly in the United States and in Asia (particularly in Japan and Singapore) for its superiority in concrete durability, extending the lifespan of buildings from fifty years to a hundred years.
